This is the sixth article in a series where I explore why we compare ourselves to others and share five key facts that can impact your happiness, emotions, thoughts, and daily life.
In some fields, there’s a common age limit for participation. In other words, if you don’t reach that age, you’re out of luck. In these situations, we might convince ourselves that the paths to achieving our goals are also limited.
Do you relate? The internet is full of discussions saying you’re "old" once you hit your 30s. Is that true? Believing this blindly is a common mistake, and it can be draining your happiness.
Some things are unavoidable, but it is always possible to find a new path. A way to make your dreams come true. Perhaps the secret lies in how you see the situation and how you face it.
Today, along with the popularization of music and with such a rapidly changing world, we can notice that there is no one universal path, and there can be many ideas for professional development.
With a little imagination and ingenuity🤓, we can adapt to these new realities. We can look for personal and professional fulfillment in many ways.
Below I give you some examples of artists who succeed their career in different ages:
⭐️ James Galway
James Galway (born 1939) began his career as an orchestra flutist and continued in that role until 1975, when he decided to pursue a solo career. After making this decision, he became a world-renowned flutist, invited to numerous programs, and has enjoyed recognition and a remarkable career ever since.
The soloist career of his dreams came to him after his 30s.
⭐️ Emma Resmini
Emma Resmini (born 2000) was already gaining recognition at the age of 7 for her YouTube recordings. By the time she was 8, she was playing pieces like Carmen Fantasy and Chaminade. Now, she is a graduate of both Curtis and Juilliard, while also pursuing a degree in Computational Data Science. It’s never too late to follow your dreams, and even change careers if needed.
Emma achieved success at a young age, but her journey continues to evolve even as she pursues new passions.
